Lulu is not a person, she’s a boat. When Ken sent me a picture of the beach taken at sunset with the moon just risen and Lulu in the foreground I was smitten. To me this image was the perfect representation of who we are right now in our lives. Like Lulu we are a little battered and bruised but if you give us a beach to rest on we’ll be happy and the moon will light our path down Mexican way. Lulu and the moon are our inspiration.

Ik Kil
As promised, here is the first of several planned posts about things to see and do in the Progreso area. Nothing like starting with a bang! Ik Kil Cenote is just so beautiful it may be the highlight of your visit (other than visiting with us of course!). Here is what Wikipedia has to say […]

So, where is Progreso?
When we tell people we have bought a house in Progreso, Mexico we usually get enthusiastic but somewhat confused congratulations. This is primarily because they are not quite sure where it is. Is it on the Atlantic side, the Caribbean or near the Texas border? Even when we describe its location in the Yucatan people […]

Why Progreso?
Two years ago the Winnipeg Free Press ran an article about Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico which said what a lovely, friendly and affordable vacation destination it was. True to my obsessive/compulsive tendencies I clipped it out and filed it away. Then last year I was talking to a good friend about the pros and cons of […]
And now a GOOGLE translation into Spanish:
Lulu no es una persona, es un barco. Cuando Ken me envió una foto de la playa tomada al atardecer con la luna acaba de salir y Lulu en el primer plano estaba herido. Para mí, esta imagen es la representación perfecta de lo que somos ahora mismo en nuestras vidas. Al igual que Lulu estamos un poco maltratadas y golpeadas, pero si nos da una playa para descansar en que vamos a ser felices y la luna se iluminará nuestro camino por medio mexicano. Lulu y la luna son nuestra inspiración.
Thank you! I couldn’t have said it better!
De nada!
When are we starting our espanol lessons, Leslie? Don’t say “manyana”!
Oooh. That remands me I need to sign up! Thanks
I’m signed up for Spanish now! Starting April 9. Still can’t believe this is happening.
That picture is stunning! I can so imagine that it stands for everything right now! Good luck in your new town!
Ken majored in photography in his fine arts degree so we have tons of amazing pictures like this one. Thanks for checking out my fledgling blog. I am sure things will pick up once we are actually living in Progreso so I hope you stick with me.
